Product information "ADDERView - AVSD1002"
The ADDERView Digital Standard SecureSwitch enables keyboard, monitor and mouse sharing between high and low security systems, "red and black networks", with optimised security to prevent critical data from being compromised. The product design provides support for USB, dual-link DVI-I and audio KVM switching while protecting information within a high-density, small form factor unit.

Features
Unidirectional Data Paths for Keyboard and Mouse
Unidirectional data paths ensure that data isolation is provided by hardware, not microprocessor software, and protect against timing analysis or forced malfunction attacks.
Designed for minimal electromagnetic emissions and isolation from electrical crosstalk.
Extensive shielding of the outer case and internal circuitry, plus 60 dB crosstalk isolation, ensure that less than 1/1000 of a signal is transmitted to another computer. External probes and unauthorised internal access are prevented by the unit design with as few openings as possible.
No shared RAM between ports
The keyboard and mouse processor is powered down and reset at each switchover to prevent shared RAM leaks. Separate memories contain Num, Caps and Scroll states with restricted accessibility, and all data buffers are actively cleared after use.
Hardwired Port Isolation
Data diodes implemented in hardwired electronic circuits ensure unidirectional flow of critical data paths and protect vulnerable peripherals by preventing information from being read or transmitted by another system. Peripherals are always powered down and reinitialised when a channel change occurs to provide additional protection against hidden peripheral malware.
No critical dependence on software
Minimal use of software within the unit eliminates the possibility of subversive reprogramming. One-time programmable memory replaces flash memory in all security-critical areas of the unit.
Limited USB function
The USB ports only support keyboards and mice, and hotkey functions are disabled. Other devices, such as USB memory drives, cannot be connected.
No microphone ports
To prevent small crosstalk noises from being "recorded".
Independent power supplies block power line signalling.
The circuitry for each port is powered independently of the USB cable. Power line signalling is blocked because different connection circuits cannot use the same power supply.
ADDERView SecureSwitch Digital Standard checks its own operation
Hardware and software must be aligned before the data flow is activated. The unit continuously checks its own status. Operation is halted and error indication is shown in case of unexpected interaction.
Maximum compatibility through true platform independence
USB keyboard or mouse and dual-link DVI-I monitor interfaces enable true platform independence.
High-performance digital or analogue video
Operating the dual-link DVI interface at full DVI bandwidth ensures that high-end applications requiring high-performance video are not compromised. The DVI interface randomises the low-order video bit to avoid snooping.

The special cables available for connections to each system are carefully constructed with braiding and foil to provide excellent shielding against signal emissions that could otherwise be intercepted. A similarly constructed cable is also available for the monitor connection (VSCD9).
The special cables are already equipped with ferrite cores to support signal suppression. For USB peripheral connections, we strongly recommend adding ferrite cores to these cables (if not already present) to further support emission suppression.
