Produktinformation "HW Group - Spider - 600273"
The HW Group Spider connects 4 dry contacts or 1-wire bus RJ11 sensors to Poseidon2 4002 via RS-485 (RJ45) bus.
It is allowed to connect more Spider units to the RS-485 bus.
Suitable for applications with complex cabling in server rooms, industrial buildings, etc.

Applications and use:
  • Expanding the number of inputs for connecting potential-free contacts for Poseidon 2250.
  • Collecting values from 19" racks, RS-485 bus runs along the wall.
  • Temperature monitoring in supermarket freezers, RS-485 bus runs along the wall behind the freezers.
Port Number: 4 Ports
Usage / Type: Sensor
Features

  • Connection of 4 potential-free contacts or RJ11 sensors to the RS-485 bus
  • 2x RJ45 connectors for connecting the RS-485 bus enable daisy chaining
  • Power supply via the 485 bus from the Poseidon or from an external power supply (barrel connector for external 12V adapter)
  • DIP switch for setting the address on the RS-485 bus (sensor ID)
  • Signalling of the read sensor value / switched potential-free contact
  • Reaction to extremely short potential-free contact pulses (30 ms)
Technical details

Input
4x 1-wire sensors (temperature or humidity)
6 values (maximum 2 combined temperature/humidity sensors can be connected)
4x potential-free contact

Output
RS-485 bus -RJ45 (including power supply)
The Poseidon 2250 supports a total of up to 26 sensors or 4 spider units.
An additional power supply adapter is required to connect two or more spiders
The RS-485 communication bus can be up to 1200m (4000ft) long
The last sensor on the RS-485 bus (at the end of the line) must terminate the bus ("Bus Mode" jumper set to LAST)

Connectors

Input
It is possible to use RJ11, RJ12 and RJ45 sockets.
Only 1-wire sensors (temperature, humidity) per HW group and galvanically isolated contacts (relay outputs) are supported.

External power supply
Used to connect an external power supply when daisy-chaining Spider units. Connects to a 12VDC power supply adapter.

Output
RS-485 bus + 12VDC power supply

Spider configuration

Bus Connection Mode (BUS MODE)
The BUS MODE switch defines the position of the spider on the RS-485 bus.
Depending on the position, the connections are connected and, if necessary, the bus termination is activated. Check this setting using the example block diagram.

Note: If you change your DIP settings or connect/disconnect probes, switch off the Spider to rescan the probes.

LED indicators
Each input (I1 to I4) has a corresponding LED.
The LED flashes briefly when the Poseidon reads the input via RS-485
For binary inputs, the LED indicates the input state as seen by the Poseidon unit
